Q1 2011 Disasters

So far, it's been an active year. Animals are dying by the millions. What is going on here? Is it the result of magnetism from the solar flares? Is it magnetism from the ever-changing Earth's core? This is a (partial) list of disasters so far:

Earthquake.Tsunami. Nuclear Disaster.

Mother Earth strikes again, showing that the human race is nothing against the awesome power of nature. What is concerning to me after the biggest earthquake in Japan's history is the nuclear plant explosion. Along with this is the inability of Japanese engineers to cool the nuclear rods in the plant.

If cooling efforts fail, the rods and the water surrounding them will continue to heat until they burn-through the steel vessel that contains them. Then - massive radiation exposure that could potentially kill thousands!

Did the Mayans have it right? Can Mother Nature be the catalyst of the Dec. 21, 2012 prophesy?

The Coming Solar Storm

NASA is warning this week that a solarstorm currently underway on the surface of the sun is projected to hit earth in 2012. But unlike the coronal mass ejection that provided views of the aurora borealis at lower latitudes than normal earlier this month, this solar storm could be so powerful it may wipe out the power grid on the entire planet.

NASA says that other geomagnetic storms occurred back in 1859 and 1921, wiping out telegraph wires completely. The storm in 2012 is expected to be even more severe, possibly leaving humans without transportation, communication, or power. This could have a profound effect on the world economy and hold us hostage in a power-less electrical gridlock.

Could this be the 2012 phenomenon that marks the so-called end of the world or other similar catastrophe?

The current cycle of the sun is projected to be one of the most intense since record keeping began almost 400 years ago. The geomagnetic storms in the earth'satmosphere in 2012 could have catastrophic effects on the ground here in the Capital District of Albany and upstate New York, with the auroras being a beautiful side effect.

NASA has talked of the coming 2012 solar storms since 2006, and if correct, say this event could threaten to beat out the historicsolar maximum of 1958. Now is a good time to review your disaster plan, especially since next month is National Preparedness Month.

2012 - More proof that it is the end!

2012 The Movie

So, I went to see the movie and was not impressed. The concept is OK but I found myself thinking that I would take a different approach...

I would have started with Mayan priests gathering to discuss the end of the world, how they came to realize that 12.21.12 was, in fact, the end. Then, they would discuss the possible catastrophes that could put an end to the world as-we-know-it...

While they did point out the cosmic alignment that is scheduled for 2012, they chose to focus on the growing solar activity. I think that KNOWING, the other end-of-days movie was probably more accurate on the effects of the massive solar flares upon the Earth.

The waterworld transformation is also one that is hard to digest. I would think that all the volcanic activity is more likely to trigger an ice age (small or large) instead half of the world land masses falling into the ocean(s).

Entertaining? Maybe worth the matinee ticket price.

Just in case

Leading up to December 21, 2012, many will come up with their own interpretation of the prophecies that exist. Some, will provide visual evidence of their beliefs.

November, 2009 will bring to the movie screens across the world an apocalyptic view of the 2012 prophesy. From the director of "The Day After Tomorrow", 2012 will portray some of the possible disasters that await...

The con may have another day in it but Charlie has no more days in him. All the Mayan talk has inspired me to gas up the winnie and continue on south to check out the ruins. Speaking of suckers, congrats to all the IHC Ambassadors.
